I’ve been working on several shawls lately. They’re simple in design, but oh so unique! It’s called – well, it’s called all sorts of things I’ve found out through my research, but I have decided on ‘Vagabond’.

There are patterns (some free, some you pay for) for both knit and crochet out there in the Internet of Things.

I originally obtained this free pattern on Ravelry here – Vagabond Shawl Pattern It’s designed by Carolyn Glauz-Todrank who designs all kinds of pretty knit things. This pattern has a cute little ‘picot bind off’ that I really like. I had to refer to a couple of YouTube videos for how to do the bind off thing. That was new to me!

Here’s another one for crochet, by Ravelry designer PurpleIguana here – Crochet Vagabond Shawl.

I recently completed one I knit up with I Love This Cotton yarn (size 9 circulars). I’m also working on one using Shawl In A Cake

yarn by Lion Brand (size 8 circulars).

I’m looking forward to doing this up in a bulky cotton yarn (Billow from KnitPicks) next. That should prove interesting! This pattern is really so versatile. You can adjust the size to anything you like, and use all sorts and weights of yarn.

I’d be interested in comments on this, and how yours came out!
